Yes, there is more to Vegas than the strip! Here are some pics of a great area to visit outside of Las Vegas.

These were on our Valley of Fire/Logandale ride, (sort of the backside of Valley of Fire) To get there you go N. out of Vegas & pass the Valley of Fire exit...see map here .......

You can see Lake Mead in the distance on one of the pics. The ride goes from easy to uh oh pay attention to oh s...... don't look down yet..

Valley of Fire:   Daytrip to hike, picnic, sightsee and you can camp there too. The colors thruout the park are outstanding.  You can see chipmunks, they come out at some of the picnic areas, lizards, petrified trees, various birds, eagles, petroglyphs & a lot more. About (45 miles North of Las Vegas- take VOF exit).  Valley of Fire is Nevada's oldest and largest state park. I would reccomend you visit before the summer heat strikes. You can google it to get exact directions and more info,pics,etc.
